My name is Stephanie Goodwin, and I am very excited to once again be a part of WAAS as your school counselor. I grew up in a rural community outside of Frankfort, Indiana, and played three sports throughout high school (volleyball, basketball, and softball). I earned two degrees from Purdue University in 1998, a BS in Management with a minor in Human Resources and a BA in Psychology. I earned an MA in Counseling Psychology, School track, from Ball State University in 2004.
I have worked as a school counselor at two high schools when I lived in Indiana and as a school counselor at Malpass Corner Elementary in Pender County and at Sunset Park Elementary in NHCS.
While living in Lafayette, Indiana, and working as a high school counselor, I met and married my husband, Dan. We married in July 2008 and moved to Wilmington later that year. We have 3 children, Sophie (6th grader at Murray Middle), Daxton (3rd grader at Codington), and Ella (2nd grader at Codington). Sophie plays soccer and lacrosse and hopes to try volleyball at Murray this school year, Dax does karate and will start guitar lessons, and Ella plays soccer, lacrosse, and basketball. I like to work out & exercise, play board games, watch my children play sports, and I love to read (although I don’t get to do that as much as I’d like because we are a very active and busy family!).
